It has been such a joy getting to know Kyle and Emily over the past year and capture some great memories for them!
When you train to accomplish a half marathon, which many native Iowans love devoting their time and sweat to, you imagine and expect to feel a bit of a life change in yourself as you cross that finish line. But there was an extra “life change” for these two at that finish line, where Kyle decided to kneel down and ask her to be his wife! Maybe he was smart because half of us are delirious after a race, so he figured that was a great chance to try the question out. *wink* Or maybe he wanted it to be in a moment where he saw his favorite qualities of her all at once: A hard worker (and still beautiful while doing it), a fighter, and a determined, strong woman. We all know she said yes, and here we are!
Their wedding day was absolutely stunning and full of so many emotions. The two decided to keep the traditional way, and let her dad lead her down the aisle where she saw him for the first time that day. But it was perfect. The ladies spent a very relaxing morning getting dolled up at home just a few minutes from the church and enjoying the last few hours with Emily being a “Miss”. Arriving at the church just shortly before the ceremony, Kyle didn’t need to be standing at the alter for the tears to start flowing. He knew what this whole day was about and he felt it fully in his heart even way before the ceremony began. You could see the true love and emotion in his eyes all day, and this is truly what it’s all about. They didn’t get caught up in the duties of having everything absolutely perfect and making sure a great party was thrown. All of those things happened, but they were in the moments together and didn’t lose sight that this whole day was just based off of how they became to know each other and fall in love.
I was honored to capture all of that for them and I am very proud to show you a glimpse from that beautiful summer day!
