A Summer Wedding at Rollins Mansion in Des Moines, Iowa

It’s been so fun having Laken and Chris as clients! After meeting in Iowa, their lives and jobs took them out to Denver where they currently reside. I was able to drive down there last Fall to meet them in person finally and get some great portraits done in the city and mountains nearby!

One of the biggest compliments you can get from someone in this industry, is them booking you before ever meeting! It’s becoming more common, maybe for the sake of saving time or what-not, but I LOVE meeting everyone beforehand to make sure we vibe well. So them trusting me enough to do this long distance has been an honor.

They traveled back to Des Moines to reunite with their families and have a good “middle ground” for their many friends from all over, to travel to. With the amazing staff over at Rollins Mansion, they had an AMAZING and smooth day. The humidity in Iowa that day was OFF THE CHARTS but because they trusted me to create the portrait timeline as I knew I needed, we had multiple chances to head inside to keep us all safe from heat exhaustion. It was the perfect plan!

Seeing the both of them dressed to the max and finally seeing each other on this day that’s been planned so long, was so great to witness as Laken glowed all day and had the most infectious smile, and Chris as handsome as ever! Thank you SO much you two, for trusting me with your big day and going with the flow of things, battling the heat, and rocking your photos!
