They chose to see each other early in the day, because you want to spend your entire wedding day with your favorite person, yes? But…he had a secret, and he wasn’t quite sure how she would react..
Yet he chose to use their private, personal vows to finally reveal it. Nick you’re crazy! After she got through her vows, and the first round of tears, he read his out and watched as her face went from sweet smiles to pure shock!
You see, back in 2016, the two had met and slowly started to get to know each other.
Probably just a regular day in Emma’s life between classes and work, she received something strange in the mail. A potato parcel! With her face plastered on it! We’ve all seen them right?
After laughing it off, she harassed her friends (in the best Emma way) on who sent it to her. Everyone denied it, which likely caused a second round of interrogation! Who on earth sent this to her?! Whoever it was, they clearly knew her well with how big of a kick she got out of it. Emma never figured it out. She just went on with her life, graduated college and moved out of that house where the mysterious potato had found her..
Fast forward three years to her wedding day… that potato was brought up in Nick’s vows.. her reaction below will reveal that she FINALLY found out who it was, and obviously completely blown away that this secret was kept so well and long, and truly the last person on earth she would guess was responsible.
Go Nick! I think she fell in love with you more at that moment.
This day was hands down, an absolute blast and memorable wedding day. We were able to spend a few hours exploring downtown Des Moines, taking a great amount of portraits that they can cherish for a lifetime! I’ve seen Emma and Nick at weddings I’ve shot in the past, and that makes it so much more special with it being their turn! They voiced many times how they trusted me with taking care of these memories and I cannot thank them enough for that alone. It has been an absolute honor!
Their ceremony was led by one of their dearest friends, which made it so special and uplifted. The energy the entire day was pure joy, and not just from the couple alone but EVERYONE. I have never witnessed a dinner reception with higher energy then what was going on. Emma and Nick’s joyful spirit was one thing, because you can’t help but love these two. Their whole group of guests cheering through the entire night was really really cool to witness. There was no doubt the excitement going around for these two to unite in marriage!
I can’t say enough about Emma and Nick, but you two are so loved just as you deserve. You both give so much to people in your life, you deserve to receive it back in every way.
